Nancy has been breeding dogs for more than 40 years.  She has owned and loved shorthairs since 1974 and has been breeding since 1987. She has typically shown her own dogs and has finished dozens of champions.  She is highly selective in her breeding program, and not all champions are breeding caliber.

Nancy breeds only finished champions beyond the age of two with all health clearances. She breeds infrequently, and only when she feels the breed will be sustained or improved by a breeding. All puppies go out on contracts, and all non competition dogs must be spayed or neutered and may not be bred. Even with finished champions, permission to breed any pup remains with the original breeder. Puppy owners are carefully selected and the breeder remains available for the life of the dog.

Her ten years of rescue work in the breed have brought her many insights on better breeding practice, attention to temperment and the importance of fitting the right puppy in the right home.  She has often trained and shown dogs for others as a result of her unique insights into behavioral traing. She has written a book for thoses who are considering whether or not to acquire a shorthair, or who need to know how to live with one they already have.
